2010 Emmaus Girls Soccer Banquet

The 2010 Emmaus varsity girls soccer team poses at its
annual banquet on Saturday, June 12. The Hornets won their 8th
consecutive Lehigh Valley Conference championship this season
in dramatic fashion, defeating Parkland in penalty kicks.
Hornets Win 8th Straight LVC Title

The Emmaus girls soccer team poses with the 2010 Lehigh
Valley Conference championship trophy after winning its eighth
straight title on Wednesday night, May 12. The Hornets downed
Parkland in penalty kicks (5-3) at Bethelehm Area School
District's Frank Banko Field. The two teams were tied at one
goal apiece through regulation and two overtimes. Emmaus has
won every championship in the eight-year old league's history.

Millheim (Class of 2012), Shannon Doughty (2011), Sarah Clark
(2007, currently playing at St. Bonaventure University), Alexa
Nisiotis (2010, Bloomsburg), Laura Ettinger (2008, Siena),
Molly McGeehin (2008, Pittsburgh), Erin Maurer (2011) and
Sarah Oswald (2007, West Chester), comprised the girls
coaching staff at the 2010 United Soccer Schools camp hosted
from July 5 through July 9 at Emmaus High School by head girls
soccer coach Rob Rooney and head boys soccer coach John Cari.
This year's camp drew more than 160 players.
Three Hornets Named All-LVC

Three Emmaus players were honored prior to the LVC
championship game for their selection to the 2010
All-Conference team. From left: Senior forward Ali Brosky was
chosen for the third time; senior defender Kaity Dychala was a
second-time pick; and sophomore midfielder Taylor Millheim was
a second-time selection. Congratulations to all three girls
for their standout seasons.

2009 District XI Class AAA Champions

The Emmaus girls soccer team poses with the 2009 District
XI Class AAA championship trophy after a 2-1 win over Easton
on May 21 at the Zephyr Sports Complex on the campus of
Whitehall High School. It is the fourth district title in the
last five years for the Hornets and their eighth title
overall.
2009 Lehigh Valley Conference Champions

The Emmaus girls soccer team poses with the Lehigh Valley
Conference championship trophy following its 2-0 win over
Parkland on Thursday night at Whitehall High School. Junior
Kaity Dychala and senior Meghan Gilley scored just 41 seconds
apart in the first half to lead the Hornets to their seventh
consecutive conference title. Emmaus has won all seven girls
soccer championships since the league was founded.

Standouts Teach Next Generation

Current and past Emmaus girls soccer standouts Sarah Oswald
(Emmaus Class of 2007, currently playing at West Chester
University), Jordan Egge (2010), Sarah Clark (2007, St.
Bonaventure), Laura Ettinger (2008, Siena), Meghan Gilley
(2009, Stony Brook) and Molly McGeehin (2008, Pittsburgh)
comprised the girls staff of counselors at the 2009 United
Soccer Schools camp hosted from July 6 through July 10 at
Emmaus High School by head girls soccer coach Rob Rooney and
head boys soccer coach John Cari. This year's camp drew more
than 130 players.

Four Hornets Named All-LVC

Four Emmaus players were honored prior to the LVC championship
game for their selection to the 2009 All-Conference team. From

conference player and a two-time all-state player; junior

Hornets Visit Virginia Beach

The Emmaus varsity team played two games in Virginia Beach
during a team trip there from April 1 through April 4. On
April 2 the Hornets played to a 2-2 draw with the Frank Cox
Falcons and followed up on April 4 with a 1-1 draw against the
Kempsville Chiefs. On its last trip to the area, in March of
2007, Emmaus played to a 2-0 win over Frank Cox and a 4-1 loss
to the Floyd Kellam Knights.
2009 Varsity Team

Gilley Named Regional All-American

Emmaus senior captain Meghan Gilley has been named to the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America's East Regional
High School All-America team for her play during the spring of
2008. Meghan scored 28 goals and added 8 assists in leading
the Hornets to a 20-5-0 overall record, a sixth-consecutive
Lehigh Valley Conference championship, and a runner-up spot in
the District XI tournament. She plays club soccer for the
Vincent United Fury and will attend Stony Brook University, an
NCAA Division I school, on a soccer scholarship.
Meghan is the sixth Emmaus player to earn Regional
All-American status, joining Hornet greats Shannon Nagle
(1997), Carrie Phillips (1998), Jen Dervarics (2005), Sarah
Oswald (2006 & 2007) and Bernie DaCosta (2006). Only players
who earn all-state status are eligible for All-American
consideration and Meghan was the top vote getter in last
year's LVC all-state voting.

2008 Lehigh Valley Conference Champions

The Emmaus girl's soccer team celebrates the 2008 Lehigh
Valley Conference Championship followings its stunning
comeback victory over Nazareth on May 8, 2008 at J. Birney
Crum Stadium in Allentown. Trailing 3-0 with five minutes
remaining in the first half, the Hornets stormed back, getting
a late first-half goal, two in the second half and a
game-winning penalty kick from Meghan Gilley just 2:26 into
the first overtime. The Hornets have won six consecutive LVC
titles and 17 championships in the past 19 years.

Emmaus seniors Ally Riche, Laura Ettinger, Sierra
Griffiths, Molly McGeehin and Megan Dychala post with the
Lehigh Valley Conference championship trophy. The 2008 seniors
captured the conference title every year of their high school
careers.

(Amanda Klegarth, Steph Basile, Shannon Doughty, Kelsey
Hochleitner and Erica White) celebrate their first LVC
championship. Hochleitner, who started every game for the
Hornets during the regular season, had two critical assists in
the Hornets' come-from-behind victory over Nazareth.
Emmaus Seniors Sign Letters of Intent

Emmaus girl's soccer senior captains Sierra Griffiths,
Laura Ettinger and Megan Dychala recently signed
National Letters of Intent to continue their college soccer
careers at Fairleigh Dickinson University (NCAA D1), Siena
College (NCAA D1) and West Chester University (NCAA D2),
respectively.

The Emmaus girl's soccer team celebrates the
2007 Lehigh Valley Conference Championship followings
its 5-0 win over Nazareth on May 10. The Hornets have won five
consecutive league titles and 16 in the past 18 years.
2007 Freshmen

The freshman members of the 2007 varsity
soccer team (Alex Brosky, Kaity Dychala,
Jordan Egge, Rachel Watson, Jess Vaeth and
Jessi Wall) celebrate their first LVC championship.
Brosky, one of the top-scoring freshman in the area, had a
goal in the 5-0 win over Nazareth.
Oswald Sets All-Time Mark

Senior captain Sarah Oswald scored three goals on
Saturday, April 21, to pass 1997 graduate Shannon Nagle as the
all-time leading scorer in Emmaus soccer history. Oswald's
three goals gave her 115 for her career. Nagle scored 114 in
her legendary career - the last being the game winner in
overtime of the 1997 PIAA championship game. Oswald is a
two-time All-LVC player, two-time Morning Call All-Area
player, a 2006 Pennsylvania All-State selection and a 2006
National Soccer Coaches Association of America Regional
All-American.

The 2007 Emmaus Varsity Girl's Soccer Team
poses during some down time in Virginia Beach on March 30. The
Hornets were in town to play Frank Cox High School and Floyd
Kellam High School — two of the top teams in Virginia. They
beat Cox, 2-0, but fell to Kellam, 4-1.
National Signing Day

Emmaus senior captains Sarah Clark, Sarah
Oswald and Kailey Watson sign National
Letters of Intent to continue their playing careers this coming
fall. Clark will attend Division I St. Bonaventure University
in New York while both Oswald and Watson will play for Division
II national powerhouse West Chester University. All three
have been four year contributors for the Lady Hornets.

The Roman god of the sea, Neptune, prepares to drop a giant
Loggerhead turtle onto all 22 members of the 2007 Emmaus
girl's soccer team during their trip to Virginia Beach in
late March, 2007. The statue of Neptune is the creation of
Richmond sculptor Paul DiPasquale and stands 26 feet high,
weighing in at over 15,000 pounds.
