Hornets Win 2011 District XI Title!

Adam Kita scored in the first half to lead the Hornets toad 1-0 victory over Stroudsburg. The victory was the Hornets 13th District title - the most of any school in the district.

Groh & Fine named All-LVC

Two Emmaus players were honored prior to the LVC championship game for their selection to the 2011 All-Conference team. Senior midfielder Patrick Groh, and junior goalkeeper Kevin Fine. This is Groh's second time chosen to the team, while for Fine, it is his first. Congratulations to both!

Hornets Host Youth Clinic

Almost 100 boys, ages 7-14, from the local area came to Memorial Field on October 5th for a chance to work with, and learn from the current varsity & junior varsity teams.

Important Information

Hornets Named Team of the Year

 

After a successful 2011 campaign, The Emmaus Boys Varsity team was named the 2011 Soccer team of the year for the Morning Call.  The honor was bestowed upon the Hornets as the being the best in over 50 schools that the Morning Call area covers.  This is the 2nd time the Hornets won the award; the last being in 2000.

Groh, Fine Chosen Morning Call- All Area

 

Senior captain Patrick Groh, and junior goalkeeper Kevin Fine were selected to the Morning Call All-Area 1st Team. For both, this is the first time they were recognized by the newspaper as being All-Area. Senior captain Blair Geiger was named to the 2nd team All-Area.  Senior Stevie Castellani and Sophomore Justis Faulkner were named Honorable Mention.  Congratulations to all five players for their outstanding contributions in the 2011 season!

Off-Season Captains Named


Congratulations to seniors-to-be Adam Kita and Ben Roda, along with Junior Johnny Philbin for being selected as off-season captains for the 2012 boys' varsity soccer team. All three players were selected by their peers.

The Agony of Defeat

 

After 110 minutes of hard fought play, the Hornets' season came to an end in the 1st round of the PIAA playoffs 3-2 in Double OT to D1 runner-up Council Rock North.  Seniors Blair Geiger and Stevie Castellani scored for the Hornets (19-4-1) as they fought back twice to push the game into both overtimes.  Congratulations on a terrific season. Hornets Win Districts!!!

 

Adam Kita, once again comes up big and finds a Pat Groh service to score the lone goa,l and lead the Hornets to their 13th District Championship.  "Lucky thirteen" puts the Hornets on top among all schools in District 11.  Before the game, the Hornets were tied with Freedom with twelve titles.   In the District tournament, Goalkeeper Kevin Fine and the defense did not allow a goal in over 320 minutes of play.  Morning Call.

Kita Seizes the Moment

 

With 13:27 left in the 2nd half, Junior, Adam Kita found a Blair Geiger cross for what turned out to be the game winner 1-0 vs. Parkland in the District Semi-Final.  Kevin Fine and the defense once again were superb in posting their 15th shutout.  The Hornets will face MVC runner-up the Stroudsburg Mounties (20-1-2) in the District finals to be held Thursday Night at 7:30 at Whitehall High School. Story.

Groh, Fine, Selected All-LVC

 

Senior captain Patrick Groh, and junior goalkeeper Kevin Fine were selected to the All-Lehigh Valley Conference 1st team.  For Groh, this was his second time being selected to the first team.  For Fine, he joins the company of his brother Andy, who was also selected as an All-LVC goalkeeper in his junior year. Senior captain Blair Geiger was named an Honorable Mention for the conference.
